Matugga Adventist Church area of Maganjo District matured into a Distrct last Sunday the 25th of March 2018.

Matugga started way back in the 1970s and has been growing slowly to maturity. The mother District from which Matugga is coming (Maganjo) was officially made a District in 1994 under the leadership of Pr. Kaggwa Rogers the current Communication/Education Director. Maganjo later helped produce Kanyanya District in the 2000s.

The rain that fell, the VDs that took place and the day being a Palm Sunday  did not deter over 800 people from attending the inauguration ceremony which was graced by The President of the Central Uganda Conference Pr. Kajoba Samuel, the CUC Treasurer Edward Miiro  and CUC departmentals.

A grand marching procession led the Presidential convoy from the main road to the church. Here the president was received by Prs. Kalema John of Maganjo Dstrict and Ev. Sebaggala Ivan the new District head, Flags were raised and the pastor’s house inspected.

In the service Pr, Kajoba dedicated the new District Council which includes the department heads and all District elders, Church clerks and church Treasurers in Matugga Area.
Matugga has three Church Boards which include Matugga, Ssanga, Buwambo,.
Matugga Church Board has these 8 congregations Matugga, Namakonkome, Katalemwa, Kiryagonja.Migadde, Kirwanira, Kiti and Katadde

Buwambo Church Board has three congregations; Buwambo and Lugo
Ssanga Church Board has 6 congregations: Ssanga, Mwererwe, Ggalamba, Ssayi, Kitungwa and Nakukuba.
This gives a total of 16 churches (congregations) Currently the Church membership in the District is at 1,178 (one thousand, one hundredand seventy eight) people.

The President commissioned the District by handing Pr. Sebaggala Ivan and his District leadership with a huge bible charging them to follow it alone in teaching people and Eld. Miiro Edward handed them the Church Manual as the instruments of Power to lead the church with.
Maganjo District donated a big cabinet for keeping of church records and property plus a cheque of (2) two million shillings to kick start the District. A voluntary collection of over 150,000/- was also made.
