KAMPALA ZONE COMMUNICATORS LEARN NEW VISUAL IDENTITY

KAMPALA ZONE COMMUNICATORS LEARN NEW VISUAL IDENTITY

Over 80 Kampala Zone Communication Secretaries from the over 21 Church Districts converged on Makerere SDA to study about the new Visual Identity for the Adventist Church.

The training seminar for Communication secretaries from the church, the Women ministries and the Youth dept at all levels which took place on Sunday 18th November 2018 ,  was initiated by the CUC Communications Director in reply to the calls for clear guidelines concerning the designing of the Church signpost, the church literature and materials like letterheads, programs, bulletins and the like.

The main facilitator was Eld. Emmanuel Ogwal the Union Communications Director and Susan Namwabula the Union chosen Designer to help design templates for the materials.

Elder Ogwal noted that since the church left individual churches to d their artwork, no one has ever done what the guidelines show and all produced materials are different from each other.

The participants resolved that all signposts and stationery be made from one point just as the church lessons, are made from one place.

The host, Pr. Kaggwa Rogers thanked those who braved the morning rain to attend and pitied those that missed this important training. He challenged the participants to send stories to the Conference about what’s happening in their constituencies to Prime Radio, the upcoming Magazine and gather material for the soon to start television.

The World Church adopted a new Visual Identity in the April 2017 Spring Council. The main changes are (1) The new logo font (typeface) ADVENT SANS (exclusively developed for the SDA Church) (2) THE CREATION GRID (seven columns on every item; using the first six for your graphics and words but leaving the seventh column for the logo alone) (3). The different  color schemes with ECD choosing  MING (pantone 7474c).
