The construction of the offices of the North Buganda Field were handed over at Katikamu in a ceremony that saw, the contactor handing over the works to the Supervisor of the project, Central Uganda Conference.
The ceremony which took place on Thursday 18th February 2021, was started with a tour of the facility by the CUC officers, the NBF officers, elders and other representatives from CUC and North Buganda Field. The representative of KATGO CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, the construction company which was partnered to construct the two story building led the tour, closely monitored by the Conference advisor in Civil Engineering, Professor Mwakali Jackson and the Conference Treasurer Mr. Miiro Edward together with the NBF officers.
Anything that the clients had questions about or were dissatisfied with was discussed with the range of issues moving from tiles, electric wiring to smoothened edges that can cause harm to the occupants. Issues were noted and KATGO was given 3 months to make good anything that needed attention.
The Officers offices were beautifully done with a few remaining touches to be finalized on the ground floor. The idea is that when the Field stabilizes, they will complete the upper floor and the building as a whole. Central Uganda Conference agreed with KATGO to construct the whole building, finalize the ground floor for essential operations of the Field to begin, and later the first floor will be finished by the young Field.
