In a bid a elevate the livelihoods of the clergy, the association of Seventh-day Adventists living in the diaspora known as UGAMA has donated to the Central Uganda Conference global mission workers startup capital worth 3.5 million Uganda shillings. The director of Stewardship and Development, Pr. Ssembusi Joseph, Uganda Union Stewardship director, Mrs. Waiswa Esther, and the Adventist Youth Ministries director at CUC, Pr. Ssentongo Joshua presided over the function.
In her speech, the Uganda Union Stewardship director thanked Central Uganda Conference and UGAMA for the concern towards the welfare of the clergy. She asked the Global mission workers to be exemplary in personal development so that their preaching could be marched with physical proof of the same in their lives. In his speech, CUC director of Stewardship and Development, Pr. Ssembusi Joseph asked the global mission workers who were yet to receive the start capital, to hold on to the blessings of priesthood for they are enough for their sustenance. The start capital received included 50 improved breed chicks, a sack of 25kg of chick mash, and charcoal for brooding the chicks. The recipients were eight global mission workers.
